So recently I was looking all over for some blocks for Koji, just some basic blocks with maybe some letters on them. I couldn't find wooden blocks anywhere! It's like all the stores are being over-run with electronic toys and it's near impossible to find simple toys any more. Then at Target I happened to come across these: They are a set of ten BPA free blocks numbered 1-10, and each one has an animal and different patterns sculpted onto them. They are squeezable and stackable! Koji LOVES them, and he loves to chew on them especially. The product description says you can use them as bath toys, but since they have holes in them, I'm not going to put them in Koji's bath ... that's a germ fest waiting to happen! Also, the packaging is earth friendly, and the company donates a percentage of sales to the Free the Children charity. I still would like to find a set of wooden blocks some day, but this is definitely a nice alternative to traditional wood! Here

Thar she blows!!

How does it happen that my son, Koji, must pee at the most inconvenient times? For example, right after I have stripped off his pants, removed his diaper, wiped him down, let him air dry, applied diaper cream ... and just when I am about to put the fresh diaper on, suddenly the gusher appears. Before I can cover the deluge with any available absorbant material he has it all over himself, his onesie (probably the 3rd one I've dressed him in that day), the changing pad, and it is pooling under his backside! Aaahhhh! Is it the exposure to air that gives him the urge to go right then? Change in temperature? Or is he thinking, hey, mom has nothing better to do than clean me all over again! Or maybe he just enjoys the look on my face when it happens, so he does whatever he can to recreate the expression. It's a mystery to me. And on another note, poop always seems to happen JUST when I have put a fresh diaper on, even if I have just cleaned a poopy bottom! I should buy stock in di

Changes

I've made a couple changes to my blog, most notably the title. I feel the new title, 'Sleepless in LA', better describes my state of mind. Uninterrupted sleep is a thing of the past, a luxury that I fear I won't experience for a long time. I don't even remember what a full night's sleep is like! It's what I dream about these days - not a new wardrobe, night on the town, spa vacation ... nope, I want sleep! You see, on July 23rd, I became a new mom. And don't get me wrong, I absolutely love and adore my baby boy Koji, who is now 6 months old. I just really wish he w oi uld sleep better. Between breastfeeding and teething, my little guy wakes up quite frequently. Often it seems like I am just nodding off to sleep when he is waking up again! It really is all worth it in the end, such a small sacrafice to make, my sleep. I'm guessing I'll rediscover what sleep is when he's a teenager. I mean, what teenager doesn't love sleep, right? Until the
